Morocco ranks 8th on the list of clothing supplier countries to the European Union (EU) with 2.35 billion euros, up 1.1% compared to the same period in 2018.

The Kingdom, Africa’s leading exporter to Europe in clothing, is in the top 10. The country thus accounts for 3% of EU clothing imports at the end of October, according to the latest Eurostat statistics.

With this export volume, the Kingdom notably outpaces Tunisia (1.69 billion), and far outpaces Egypt (384.90 million euros) and Madagascar (305.81 million). These four countries are the only African economies on the list of the 20 leading clothing suppliers to the EU.

Moreover, European clothing imports in the first 10 months of 2019 increased by 5.1% year-on-year, reaching 74.98 billion euros, the same source said.
