Morocco is accelerating the implementation of projects to build sports, hotel and transport infrastructure in preparation for the 2030 World Cup, which it is hosting jointly with Spain and Portugal. A windfall for Moroccan companies.

The kingdom is actively preparing for this major football event and is multiplying construction and renovation work on stadiums, strengthening and rehabilitating transport infrastructure, and creating modern hotels, etc.

Many Moroccan companies specializing in construction, public works, engineering and equipment have won contracts related, among other things, to the equipment of stadiums intended to host the matches of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations and the 2030 World Cup.

According to the updated data from the Professional Association of Cement Manufacturers of Morocco, cement sales increased by 7.31% at the end of May 2024 compared to a year earlier, reaching more than 5.52 million tons. These sales stood at 1.42 million tons for the month of May alone, compared to 1.18 million tons in May 2023, an increase of 20.01%.

In detail, sales for distribution reached 3.18 million tons, while those for ready-mixed concrete reached 1.23 million tons. This is followed by sales for precast concrete with 529,021 tons, for construction with 181,497 tons, for infrastructure with 375,108 tons and for mortar with 29,568 tons, according to the same source.
