Morocco Ramps Up COVID-19 Testing with 200,000 Rapid Diagnostic Kits

After conducting 4,070 screening tests since the start of the coronavirus epidemic, Morocco is preparing, starting this week, to expand the scope of action, with the acquisition of 200,000 very rapid diagnostic devices.
Arrived last Friday, on board three planes at the Mohammed V airport in Casablanca, the shipment of 200,000 "rapid and reliable digital biosensor tests" from South Korea will be transported first to the university hospitals of Casablanca, Rabat and Fez.
The mass screening of the population will thus make it possible to measure the prevalence of covid-19 and to reduce its incidence in the population during this crucial phase of the pandemic. The formula, which has proven itself in South Korea and China, makes it possible to anticipate the management of the health risk related to the coronavirus.
As efficient and reliable as the nasopharyngeal RT-PCR tests used in the 3 pilot centers, the use of the new reagents will be extended nationwide, through the new screening units at the university hospitals of Marrakech and Agadir.
