Morocco Ramadan Time Change: Clocks Return to GMT Tonight

Starting tonight, from Saturday 14 to Sunday 15 February 2026, Moroccan clocks will be set back by one hour. This temporary switch from the GMT+1 time zone to GMT (the official reference time) is an official measure adopted by the government to adapt to the rhythm of the holy month.

In practice, the days will have more daylight in the morning, but the sun will set earlier. The main objective of this measure is to ease families’ daily routines by aligning work and school schedules with key moments of the fast, particularly iftar (the breaking of the fast at sunset) and sohour (the meal before dawn).

Time change in Morocco: return to GMT+1 scheduled for late March

This suspension of daylight saving time—which has been in effect permanently since 2018 for reasons of energy efficiency and alignment with Europe—will last only for Ramadan. Once the holy month is over, the Kingdom will return to its usual schedule: on Sunday 22 March 2026, at 2 a.m., clocks will once again have to be moved forward by 60 minutes.
