This project is part of a dynamic of modernization of rail infrastructure. It aims to guarantee the safety of passengers and regulate access to the platforms in order to reduce the risks of fraud and deviant behavior of some passengers. To achieve this objective, the ONCF "invests in cutting-edge technologies to improve all aspects of its operations, from ticketing to traffic management, including infrastructure maintenance".

The Office also focuses on the expansion of the network in order to reduce regional disparities and boost local economic development.
