Morocco’s Railway Modernization: New Access Controls to Boost Safety and Efficiency

Strengthening passenger safety and improving traffic flow. This is the objective of the National Railway Office (ONCF), which plans to introduce a new access control system to the platforms.
"The access control system allows the ONCF to better manage the influx of passengers, thus avoiding congestion and human traffic jams. This optimized organization of passenger flows facilitates travel and allows better use of existing infrastructure. In addition, this helps minimize delays and maintain train schedules, thus improving the overall efficiency of the rail service," inform Les Inspirations Éco.
This project is part of a dynamic of modernization of rail infrastructure. It aims to guarantee the safety of passengers and regulate access to the platforms in order to reduce the risks of fraud and deviant behavior of some passengers. To achieve this objective, the ONCF "invests in cutting-edge technologies to improve all aspects of its operations, from ticketing to traffic management, including infrastructure maintenance".
The Office also focuses on the expansion of the network in order to reduce regional disparities and boost local economic development. Sustainability is also an important component that the ONCF takes into account in its projects, without forgetting the continuous training of personnel to update their technological knowledge.
