Morocco Qualifies for Beach Soccer Africa Cup After Ivory Coast Withdrawal

The Moroccan beach soccer team has qualified for the CAN scheduled from October 21 to 30, 2022 in Mozambique, by decision of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) after the withdrawal of the qualifying match by Côte d’Ivoire against the Atlas Lions.
The information published on the website of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) states that "the CAF Organization and Development Commission for Futsal and Beach Soccer has decided to apply Articles 54 and 56 of Chapter 30 of the Qualifiers Regulations, under which it is the Moroccan team that is considered the winner (3-0) against Côte d’Ivoire in the return leg of the CAN qualifiers".
The FRMF recalls that in the middle of the match between the two teams, the Ivorian team decided to no longer continue the match following the penalty whistled by Libyan referee Yahya Abdelghani in favor of the Moroccan team. The match had nevertheless been won by Côte d’Ivoire (7-6) in Abidjan. But the CAF texts in this regard are very clear and have caught up with the Ivorian selection.
