Morocco Pursues Lille’s Rising Star Bouaddi Amid National Team Tug-of-War

The Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) is working to snatch Ayyoub Bouaddi, the Moroccan-origin gem from Lille, who is already a French international with the junior categories of the Blues.
While the Moroccan Federation is multiplying initiatives to convince Bouaddi to join the den of the Atlas Lions, the French Football Federation (FFF) is doing everything possible to keep the player within the Blues, according to a source at Hesport.
According to the same source, the Moroccan Federation has already managed to obtain a Moroccan identity card for the player and should soon have him obtain a Moroccan passport, two essential documents for the change of Bouaddi’s sports nationality. For its part, the FFF would be exerting strong pressure on Bouaddi to dissuade him from wearing the Moroccan jersey.
The young player is in the plans of Bernard Diomède, coach of the French U20 team, who is counting on him to achieve exploits. Through his talent, he has emerged as one of the promises of French football. Bouaddi made his debut in the Champions League against Real Madrid a few weeks ago, on the eve of his 17th birthday, becoming one of the youngest players to have participated in this competition.
This season, Bouaddi has provided an assist in 12 matches, all competitions combined, with Lille. His contract with the French club runs until the summer of 2027.
