Morocco Promises Warm Welcome for Algerian Team Despite Diplomatic Tensions

On the eve of the Burkina Faso - Algeria match counting for the 2022 World Cup qualifiers and which will be played on September 7 in Marrakech, the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) intends to reserve a royal welcome for the Algerians, without taking into account the diplomatic crisis between the two countries.

Fouzi Lekjaa stated that the Algerian national football team, expected this Monday, September 6 in Morocco, will be entitled to "a welcome worthy of it" and will have the "best conditions" of stay, indicates Fesnews.

"We have done everything possible to put the Marrakech stadium in better condition and offer our Algerian brothers a pleasant stay," says Fouzi Lekjaa. "We have also instructed everyone not to search the Algerian delegation members just as we have asked to avoid the slightest minute of delay during their trips and especially during their training sessions," adds the FRMF number one.

"The Moroccan people, the Moroccan Federation, and all Moroccan sports facilities are at the disposal of the Algerian national team coach Djamel Belmadi and his players," adds Fouzi Lekjaa. "I declare on my honor that I will watch over the security and serenity of the Algerian selection as I do with the selection of my country," he promises.

He finally stressed that extra-sporting issues should not affect relations between athletes. "I am at the disposal of Djamel Belmadi and I hope he will inspect everything himself, and if he finds something he dislikes, we will immediately take the necessary measures," Fouzi Lekjaa further affirms.
