Morocco’s Prince Moulay Rachid Turns 50: Royal Family’s Discreet Diplomat

The King Mohammed VI’s brother, Prince Moulay Rachid, celebrates his 50th birthday this Saturday, June 20, 2020.
The very discreet Prince has been trained to be the public relations man of the Monarchy. He represents it in Morocco, as well as in the world. The Constitution does not grant a special status to the Prince but his main mission is to be "at the service of the King", who is the only person authorized to mandate him.
If King Mohammed VI is a good horseman, the Prince, with his energetic swing, is very comfortable on the golf courses. He is also passionate about basketball and hunting.
The Prince, a passionate painter, is very attached to his family. He even adopts paternal attitudes towards his loved ones, whom he visits regularly.
Very elegant, like his father, the late Hassan II, Moulay Rachid used to do his shopping between London, Paris and New York when he was younger. But he particularly likes Italian shoes.
Moulay Rachid married Oum Keltoum Boufarès in June 2014. King Mohammed VI had presided over the ceremony to conclude the marriage act of his younger brother.
