Morocco’s Prime Minister to Earn 70,000 Dirhams Monthly, Receives Additional Perks

The head of government will receive a basic salary of 32,000 DH to which are added a representation allowance of 18,000 DH, a housing allowance of 15,000 DH and fitting-out expenses of 5,000 DH, giving him a monthly remuneration of 70,000 DH.
We now know a little more about the salaries and allowances of the members of the executive. This remuneration is governed by a royal decree.
Thus, the Head of Government, Aziz Akhannouch, will receive in addition to the 70,000 DH, a installation bonus of 20,000 DH and "will be entitled in his residence to have domestic staff, a chef, a kitchen assistant and a gardener," reports l’Économiste, adding that he will have three official cars and three drivers.
However, the newspaper wonders if the new head of government will give up his privileges, he who has remained Minister of Agriculture for years without receiving his salary.
As for the ministers, they have a basic salary of 26,000 DH and obtain the same types of bonuses but with lower amounts. Their overall monthly remuneration is around 60,000 DH.
As for the Secretaries of State, they are paid 50,000 DH per month. In addition, the members of the government benefit from official vehicles and domestic staff. Once they leave their position, a 10-month salary indemnity is paid to them and the ministers benefit from a lifelong pension of 39,000 DH, specifies the newspaper. A retirement that is moreover causing a stir.
