Morocco Praised by EU Commission President for COVID-19 Response Efforts

Morocco’s efforts to curb the crisis continue to be praised. Like many personalities in the world, the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, thanked Morocco on Friday for its contribution to the global response to coronavirus.

On her Twitter account, the head of the European executive posted her thank-you message: "Shukran to our Moroccan friends for your contribution against coronavirus".

Morocco, the largest African contributor to support the global response to coronavirus, launched on Thursday by the European Commission, contributed 3 million euros to this campaign, reports the European information portal "Eu political report".

The kingdom is one of the fifteen countries accompanying the donation campaign launched by the European Commission as part of the global response to coronavirus. This campaign, supported by the international organization for the defense of citizens "Global Citizen", is under the theme "Global Goal: United for the Future". It aims to ensure universal access to affordable vaccines, treatments and tests and will culminate in a global donor summit on June 27.

An article published on the same media recalls Morocco’s efforts to fight the spread of covid-19, including the creation of the covid-19 fund, mobilized to cover the expenses resulting from this health crisis, finance the modernization of the medical system, support the Moroccan economy and support the most affected sectors.

According to the same source, Morocco has a solid pharmaceutical industry "which also benefits Africa at affordable costs without restrictions or barriers".
