Morocco Poised to Lift COVID Restrictions as Health Expert Urges Action

Morocco’s epidemiological situation has improved significantly in recent weeks, prompting many officials and experts to call for the lifting of all restrictions.
For Tayeb Hamdi, a physician and researcher in health policies and systems, "it is time to make major decisions, without any hesitation, in order to put Morocco in the forefront, which is the place it deserves in view of its measures against Covid 19."
The expert stressed that "the Kingdom can join the circle of countries that will be pioneers of the post-Covid recovery period, while sending a strong message to the population, tourists, Moroccan and foreign investors, and taking advantage of this success to strengthen our trade."
However, he recalled, the virus will continue to spread and affect vulnerable people who have not been fully vaccinated, but this will not pose a threat to the health system, thanks to the immunity acquired through vaccination. "The virus will not pose a public health problem, but will rather be a threat to the individual’s health."
Hamdi urged people with fragile health and their entourage "to be more cautious, advising them to get vaccinated, as vaccination will remain the cornerstone of this individual and collective protection."
