Morocco Poised to Launch Africa’s First 5G Network, Huawei Announces

The company "Huawei" has many ambitions as part of its development projects in Morocco. To this end, it aspires for the Kingdom to become the first country to launch 5G on the African continent.
"We are already leaders in 5G. But we want to be in Morocco, which we want to support in this successful project. We also want the Kingdom to be the first to launch 5G in Africa. We are waiting for the green light from the Government," said the "Marketing and Strategy" Director of "Huawei" in Morocco.
During a press briefing held on the sidelines of the 9th Annual Summit of Suppliers for North Africa, Chakib Achour announced that the company had achieved a turnover of 3 billion dirhams. This is the result of several partnerships undertaken with economic players in the country. Huawei’s ambition is to develop its portfolio of partners. "We continue to feed it. We work with more than 15 partners in Morocco," he specified.
In March 2019, the "Ericsson" company had entered into competition with "Huawei". At the same time, the various telecommunications operators in Morocco had declared themselves ready to launch the 5th generation internet service, in particular "Inwi", a partner of the "Huawei" company.
"Inwi" had modernized its core network to make it compatible with 5G virtual platforms. In this sense, "Huawei" had specified that "Inwi" remains the strategic partner in the North Africa region.
