Morocco Plans Major Overhaul of Taxi Industry, Including App-Based Services

In Morocco, the Ministry of the Interior is preparing a plan to establish strict regulations for the taxi transport sector, especially the regulation of transport via mobile applications, in order to put an end to the chaos that has settled in major Moroccan cities such as Casablanca, Rabat, Tangier, Agadir, Marrakech and Fez. The famous licenses are even mentioned to be abolished!
Morocco is moving towards the authorization of the provision of passenger transport services via modern digital applications and platforms. This is planned in a plan aimed at establishing strict regulations for the taxi transport sector, reports Rue20. The authorization of transport via applications in Morocco will make it possible to improve the quality of urban transport services, in anticipation of major sporting events, including the Africa Cup of Nations (CAN Morocco 2025) and the 2030 World Cup that the kingdom is preparing to host. It will thus meet the expectations of citizens and tourists while improving the working conditions of professional drivers
