Morocco Plans 93,000-Seat Stadium Near Casablanca for World Cup Bid

The "Grand Stade de Casablanca" is the subject of an agreement currently being signed between several involved parties, announced Karim Glaibi, member of the Casablanca Municipal Council. The building will be constructed outside the city of Casablanca, precisely in the province of Benslimane, due to a lack of space in the economic capital.
With a capacity of 93,000 spectators, this new stadium will be a major addition to Morocco’s sports infrastructure. Glaibi explained that the realization of this project is justified by the need for such a venue capable of accommodating a large number of spectators in the region. The cost of its construction is estimated at around 2 billion dirhams.
Morocco is not stopping there. Fouzi Lekjaa, president of the committee in charge of Morocco’s candidacy for the organization of the 2030 World Cup, revealed that six other stadiums will be renovated. These works include the "Prince Moulay Abdellah" complex in Rabat, the "Grand Complexe de Tanger", the "Complexe de Fès", the "Complexe d’Agadir" and the "Grand Complexe de Marrakech". The fate of the Tetouan complex project, potentially capable of hosting 46,000 spectators, remains undecided.
These projects are part of Morocco’s candidacy to host the 2030 World Cup. The Head of Government, Aziz Akhannouch, has assured that the government will do everything to ensure the success of this candidacy, presented jointly with Spain and Portugal.
