Morocco Pauses First-Dose COVID Vaccinations Amid Supply Concerns

While Morocco is recording an increase in the Covid 19 infection rate, and only a third of the population has received the first dose of the vaccine, the Ministry of Health would have given instructions to vaccination centers to stop administering the first dose for both types of vaccine from June 30. A decision that raises questions about the real availability of the vaccine in Morocco.
Is there a shortage of vaccines? This is what Media24 seems to be suggesting, reporting that the ongoing vaccination campaign is again affected by a vaccine shortage.
Since the reception of the Chinese delivery on June 19, the site points out, the vaccination pace has accelerated again. Between June 21 and 29, 671,501 first doses were administered. A drop in first vaccinations will be observed, pending new deliveries. Morocco is awaiting a new vaccine delivery as part of the Covax initiative, in July.
However, the concern is great about this delivery if we know that the producing countries are themselves in the trough of the wave. This suspension ordered by the ministry to vaccination centers leaves doubts about availability and reinforces the thesis of a shortage. However, the same source indicates, the competent authorities have made no official communication on any vaccine shortage.
