Morocco Outpaces Tunisia in Tourist Spending, Study Finds

The average spending of a tourist in Morocco is much higher than that of a tourist in Tunisia. This is the result of a comparative study.
The average inbound tourism expenditure per visitor entry in Morocco is around 655 euros, which is 1.8 times higher than the estimated one for Tunisia (360 euros). These are the conclusions of an analysis synthesized by the Tourism Satellite Account (CST), a system now adopted by the Tunisian National Institute of Statistics (INS), reports L’Économiste Maghrébin. This analysis covers the period 2018-2021.
It was also found that the consumption of non-resident visitors continues to dominate the structure of Tunisian tourism demand. Visitors from Maghreb countries "participate" in "shaping tourism consumption by product," the study report indicates.
"In view of this criterion (but also in relation to other key ratios), Tunisia proves, the INS estimates, close in terms of tourism performance to the group of countries formed by Bulgaria, Romania, Hungary and Poland (at an average of 400 euros)."
