Morocco Olympic Coach Cites Errors, Lack of Focus in Semi-Final Loss to Spain

Tarik Sektioui, the coach of the Moroccan Olympic team, gave the reasons for the defeat against Spain (1-2) in the semi-final of the Olympic tournament, citing "technical errors" and a lack of concentration from the players.
"We started the match with many technical errors, there was also a certain haste in receiving the ball, because we wanted to go forward more quickly, which made us lose a number of balls," regretted Sektioui, after the defeat against Spain (1-2) in the semi-final of the Olympic tournament.
He added: "We gradually got into the atmosphere of the match, to succeed in scoring the goal and our management of the confrontation after scoring was good until the break." But the Cubs were unable to maintain this advantage, conceding the equalizing goal after half-time. "We made a mistake that allowed Spain to equalize, a mistake we could have done without in such a situation."
The Cubs paid dearly for a second mistake, a lack of concentration. "The second Spanish goal was scored during a moment of inattention at a critical moment, which did not allow us to play our offensive cards to equalize, although we tried, but time did not allow us to achieve our goal," explains the coach of the Moroccan Olympic team.
Eliminated at the door of the final, the Cubs want to save honor by winning the bronze on Thursday in Nantes against Egypt. "It is true that there is great disappointment, but there is a medal we must win, so we must change the general atmosphere towards this goal," concluded Sektioui. The final of the Olympic football tournament will oppose Spain to France who beat Egypt (3-1) in the semi-final.
