Morocco Offers Manufacturing Partnership to Boost European Competitiveness

The Minister of Industry, Trade and Green and Digital Economy, Moulay Hafid Elalamy, assures that Morocco could be "an important piece" of Europe’s competitiveness and production of tomorrow. He calls on the old continent for a long-term partnership.
"We have significant production and engineering capabilities that can be used to make Europe even more competitive, obviously by recovering some of what is done outside," the minister said in an interview broadcast on Euronews.
Moulay Hafid Elalamy believes that Europe should, instead of closing in on itself, have a somewhat broader set of reliable long-term partners with agility capabilities that can guarantee the competitiveness it will need.
"Relocation is needed. There has been a lot of offshoring, especially in Asia. Today, we are able to revise this partnership together so that it is mutually beneficial," the minister said. Not forgetting to recall that Morocco has exported masks to several European countries, mainly facing a shortage in these times of covid-19.
