Morocco’s En-Nesyri Makes World Cup History, Leads Team to First-Ever Semifinal

Criticized in recent months by FC Seville supporters for his drop in form, Youssef En-Nesyri is working wonders with his teammates at the World Cup. He has even become the first Moroccan player to score in two consecutive World Cup editions.
For FIFA, the Moroccan striker has written history by allowing Morocco to reach the World Cup semi-finals for the first time in its history, recalling that a few words from national coach Walid Regragui were enough to restore the player’s confidence, who was going through a bad patch before the World Cup.
Regardless of the outcome of the Morocco-France match, participating in the World Cup and showing such performance will allow En-Nesyri to start over on new bases with Seville or to land the transfer he had been hoping for so much. Laureate of the Mohammed VI Football Academy, he is in his 54th appearance with Morocco and has scored 16 goals.
