Morocco Nears Completion of 1,055-Kilometer Tiznit-Dakhla Expressway

After the completion of the work and the completion of the signaling operations, 950 km of the Tiznit-Dakhla expressway are already open to traffic. And the opening of the last sections is imminent.
Completion of the structural work, finishing touches to be made before the official opening of the entire route concern the Tiznit-Guelmim axis, especially at the level of the sections belonging to the provinces of Guelmim and Sidi Ifni, horizontal and vertical signage operations along this axis, finalization of the work on the access roads and interchanges intended to serve the douars and small localities located in parallel to the route of the expressway... The work on the Tiznit-Dakhla expressway is nearing completion. The work on the realization of five sections out of the eight that fall under the region, and which extend over a length of 105 kilometers, is also finalized. As for the three other sections, they will be completed very soon.
The last sections of this road connecting the Center to the South of the country will soon be opened to traffic, reports Al Akhbar, adding that the vertical and horizontal signage operations are continuing on three sections at the level of Guelmim-Oued Noun. These operations mark the final stage before the delivery of this 1,055-kilometer project. Advances that indicate that the entire expressway will be opened to traffic on the occasion of the celebration of the anniversary of the Green March.
With a total cost of around 10 billion dirhams, the Tiznit-Dakhla expressway is part of the new development model for the southern provinces. This mega-project will ultimately impact not only 10 provinces and more than 2.2 million inhabitants, but will also contribute to the socio-economic development of four regions of the kingdom, namely Souss-Massa, Guelmim-Oued Noun, Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra and Dakhla-Oued Eddahab.
