Morocco’s National Team Departs for Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt

The serious things are starting. The Moroccan football team and the staff have just taken off for Egypt where they are to participate in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (CAN).
The departure took place yesterday from Marrakech-Menara airport where the "Atlas Lions" had remained since the 3-2 loss against the Zambian team. As reported by the 2m channel, it was a special plane, chartered by Royal Air Maroc, that was made available to transport them to the Egyptian capital.
Just before departure, the player Fayçal Fajr spoke about the team’s state of mind and its ambition in this competition: "We trained well, we prepared well, inshallah. Now, it’s time for the most important thing, which is what we’ve been waiting for a long time and what we’ve always dreamed of doing since we were young: defending the colors of our country. We now have the opportunity to give everything to make our people proud and also to make the group proud".
Morocco’s first match will take place next Wednesday against the Namibian team. A victory for the "Lions" will boost the morale of the players, especially after the two defeats in friendly matches. Go Lions!
