Morocco National Team Coach Hervé Renard Reportedly Resigns After CAN Disappointment

The coach of the "Atlas Lions", Hervé Renard, has just thrown in the towel. A decision expected for several days by the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF).
Hervé Renard is leaving the management of the Atlas Lions! At least, this is the information just served by the Arryadia channel, pending its official announcement by Fouzi Lekjaâ’s department.
The one whose resignation had been expected since the debacle of the Atlas Lions at the 32nd edition of the Africa Cup of Nations Football (CAN) in Egypt may have thus made the choice of reason. Indeed, in a recent edition, the daily Al Massae indicated that Renard, who earns the astronomical salary of 1.2 million dirhams, could cost Morocco dearly if the FRMF chose to do without his services. It would then have to pay him a substantial severance pay. "The amount of the release clause is around 50 million dirhams," Al Massae specified.
For the record, the French technician was under contract with the FRMF until 2022. He will therefore have spent three and a half years of collaboration with the Royal Moroccan Football Federation which, it should be noted, has not yet confirmed this information.
Update: Following the information that the French coach of the Atlas Lions had thrown in the towel, the Royal Moroccan Football Federation has just issued a denial.
