Morocco’s New National Soccer Jersey Sparks Fan Controversy

As if the delay in the delivery of the new national team jersey was not enough, the sportswear manufacturer Puma unveiled the new jersey of the Atlas Lions on Wednesday, October 9 at the Morocco Mall in Casablanca. It will not have been to the taste of many fans on social networks.
Puma had been chosen over Adidas. Partner of several national teams, the German equipment manufacturer had the hopes of the fans of the national team.
According to Challenge.ma, the two jerseys presented are in red and green colors. Red is for home games and green for away games.
But what is not to the liking of many fans of the Atlas Lions is the new design on the jerseys. Sports journalist Jamal Astaïfi went so far as to describe Puma’s marketing during the presentation of the new jerseys as a "flop".
This is the third time that the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) has signed a contract with the German equipment manufacturer. The magazine recalls that Puma has already worked alongside the national team between 1998 and 2002 and between 2007 and 2011. The current contract will end in 2023.
