Morocco Millionaires Boom: Africa’s Fastest Wealth Growth 2025
Morocco recorded a record explosion in its millionaire population in 2025. This unprecedented dynamic on the African continent is directly explained by the surge in precious metal prices, reveals a recent global economic report.
The financial momentum greatly benefits Moroccan portfolios. According to the thirtieth edition of the World Wealth Report from the Capgemini institute, the proportion of high-net-worth individuals jumped by 16.8% at the national level. This striking statistic represents the fastest growth across all of Africa. More broadly, the continent’s wealthy population experienced an increase of 4.1%, a positive trend primarily driven by strong commodity valuations on markets.

This trend fits within a particularly favorable global context. The year 2025 marks a historic peak with the emergence of two million new millionaires, bringing their total number to over 25 million worldwide. The combined wealth of these individuals rose 8.7% to reach 98,300 billion dollars. North America, largely driven by the United States, and the Asia-Pacific region are setting the pace for this vast global wealth creation.
Excellent stock market performance largely explains this rapid capital accumulation. The slowdown in inflation and commercial successes of technology firms focused on artificial intelligence have significantly boosted valuations. As a direct consequence of this improvement, stocks now account for a quarter of this privileged clientele’s investments, at the expense of alternative investments. The highly restricted ultra-wealthy segment is capturing the majority of these enormous financial gains.

Facing this abundance, the expectations of major fortunes regarding wealth management are changing drastically. Fleeing the old norm of exclusivity, only 19% of these clients still entrust their assets to a single institution, preferring to diversify their advisors to hunt for better opportunities. They now demand highly personalized services and champion artificial intelligence assistance, forcing traditional players to urgently reinvent themselves in the face of fierce competition from specialized digital platforms.
