Morocco to Manufacture Russian Sputnik V Vaccine for Local and African Distribution

Morocco plans to manufacture and distribute the Russian Sputnik V vaccine on its territory. At the helm, a Moroccan laboratory present in several African countries.
"[...] Due to the high efficacy of the Russian vaccine, the Moroccan side, now represented by private actors, shows great interest in the import and subsequent localization of Sputnik V. A partner has been chosen and cooperation documents have been signed with a key Moroccan production laboratory, which also has a wide presence in African countries," said Artyom Tsinamdzgvrishvili, Russia’s commercial representative in Morocco, in an interview with Sputnik.
According to him, the localization of production in Morocco will also allow access to sub-Saharan African markets. Artyom Tsinamdzgvrishvili is convinced that positive news on the development of cooperation will soon be announced.
Sputnik V is certified halal by the Council of Ulemas of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Russia (SAM). According to independent experts, this vaccine is 91.6% effective against symptomatic forms of Covid-19, reported the medical journal The Lancet.
