Morocco Mandates COVID-19 Testing for Taxi Drivers to Curb Virus Spread

From now on, all small or large taxi drivers must undergo the coronavirus screening test. Even if passengers in taxis and drivers are already required to wear masks, the authorities prefer to take all measures to avoid any spread.
The measure is part of the fight against the spread of covid-19. The cities of the kingdom are carrying out serological tests, not only for taxi drivers, but also for "professions likely to be vectors of the coronavirus". Carriers, and more particularly those in contact with the public such as bus, coach and taxi drivers, are affected by this campaign which started in the city of Casablanca.
According to Hespress, no case has yet been detected among the 500 taxi drivers who were summoned to the Moulay Abdellah hospital in Salé to undergo coronavirus screening tests. If in Casablanca everything went well, in Salé on the other hand, incivility and non-compliance with barrier gestures were observed in the ranks of Salé taxi drivers. A "laxity regarding the wearing of masks" was also noted.
In Témara, taxi drivers have also been tested. 2,000 more will undergo screening in the coming days, according to the authorities. The same source explains that "the results of the screenings will be notified to them at their departure stations and posted on the windshields of their vehicles so that the traffic agents can check them".
