Morocco Mall Marrakech Opening Delayed to 2025, Construction 70% Complete

The Morocco Mall in Marrakech will probably not be delivered on time. The completion of this jewel was initially scheduled for mid-2024.
The Aksal group, the project owner, will certainly not be able to deliver the Morocco Mall by mid-2024 as agreed. The work shows a progress rate of around 70% and should not be completed until 2025.
The ongoing work on the finishes, the artificial rock and the green spaces, the most difficult and which could delay the delivery of the Morocco Mall, according to Maroc Diplomatique. The CEO of the Aksal group, Saloua Idrissi Akhannouch, is invited to take her responsibilities to accelerate the implementation of this project and deliver the Morocco Mall as soon as possible.
For more than a year, the retail sector (and particularly ready-to-wear) has been hit by the crisis. Several international brands have had to file for bankruptcy and leave Morocco, exhausted by the rise in customs duties, the all-out customs controls, the drop in purchasing power, the payment of the professional tax by the tenants.
In this crisis context, mall owners are having difficulty filling their margins, which explains the great pressure on the owner of the Morocco Mall in Marrakech who should be content with a low occupancy rate of the stores at launch.
