Morocco Makes History: First Arab Team to Reach World Cup Quarter-Finals

Since Tuesday evening, there has been a wave of reactions on the web to celebrate the historic qualification of the Atlas Lions for the quarter-finals of the 2022 World Cup. Among these messages is that of Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President of the United Arab Emirates.
"The impossible is not Moroccan," affirmed Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum on Tuesday evening. The Governor of Dubai expressed himself in a tweet, congratulating the Moroccan players for this exploit that honors the Arab world. "The impossible is not Arab... We are proud of you, Lions and men of Morocco. We are proud of you before the world," he added.
By defeating Spain on penalties, Morocco becomes the first Arab team to reach the quarter-finals of the World Cup. It will be against Portugal on December 10.
