Morocco Leads African Investment in France, Creating 259 Jobs in 2021

Morocco has been ranked 1st African investor in France with the highest number of jobs created in 2021, i.e. 259 jobs generated by 15 projects. The Kingdom is also the 17th international investor in France.
Moroccan investors in France have greatly contributed to the increase in new investments, said Stéphane Lecoq, Africa Director for the Invest activity of Business France, during a press briefing devoted to the presentation of the assessment of international investments in France in 2021, as it is the 17th global investor after Germany, the leader with 300 projects, the United States (247 projects) and the United Kingdom (151 projects).
In Africa, Morocco is the 1st in terms of jobs created in France with 259 jobs generated as part of 15 projects, and the 2nd in terms of created projects. Moroccan projects created in France touch different sectors, but mainly the software and business services sectors, explained the official.
The three main regions where Moroccan-origin projects are located are the Paris-Île de France region (4 projects with the creation of 81 jobs over three years), the Normandy region (3 projects with the creation of 51 jobs over three years) and the South Provence Alpes Côte d’Azur region (3 projects with the creation of 27 jobs over three years).
Cited in a Business France press release, the French Ambassador to Morocco, Hélène Le Gal, stated that "Morocco’s good result in this 2021 report illustrates the Kingdom’s position as the leading African investor in the stock of FDI in France, as Minister Franck Riester also recalled during his last trip in November 2021".
