Morocco Launches Tourism Campaign to Attract Spanish Travelers, Boosts Air Connections

In its commercial offensive, the Moroccan National Tourist Office (ONMT) has started the Spanish stage on Monday, trying to restore confidence to the main prescribers of travel agencies and travel companies in the country.
On this occasion, it was a question of the resumption of air capacity of the Iberia airline and the launch of a partnership with the ONMT from next summer. This provides for the promotion of Morocco throughout the Iberia network, which has more than 100 European and South American destinations. This should lead to a strong increase in connections to the cities of Casablanca, Marrakech and Tangier.
Iberia took the opportunity to announce a 100% resumption of its capacity for the Madrid-Tangier line (in reference to the Summer 2019 season) at a rate of 7 weekly frequencies, and a 76% resumption for the Madrid-Marrakech line, or 9 frequencies per week. This is only a first step, given the very strong potential of this line due to its role as an interconnection with flights from the Americas and other European countries.
For Adel EL Fakir, "it is essential for us to be present in Spain with our partners to activate a much-awaited recovery on both sides of the Mediterranean."
He added that "air transport is now our battle horse. Our goal today is to secure the air capacity of the main major airlines to initiate a rapid recovery of tourism activity in Morocco."
