Morocco-Spain Maritime Links Set to Resume: Decision Expected Today

The date of the resumption of maritime links between Spain and Morocco will be known today, at the end of a meeting organized at the port of Algeciras with shipping companies and companies that provide port services as part of passenger traffic.
During this meeting, the date and conditions for the gradual resumption of maritime links will be decided, according to sources from the Port Authority of the Bay of Algeciras (APBA), to Valencia Plaza.

The current maritime links with Morocco depart from Tarifa to Tanger ville, and from the port of Algeciras to Tanger Med. The president of the APBA, Gerardo Landaluce, declared on Friday, the day after the visit of Pedro Sanchez to Rabat, that the port of Algeciras "is delighted with the new stage of the relationship with Morocco, which will allow the resumption of maritime passenger traffic with Tanger Med and Tanger Ville".

Landaluce added that it is "essential to precisely define the dates of resumption of these links so that everything is ready and well organized". In addition, the shipping company Balearia has already announced that it will resume links with Morocco from Spain and France as of March 13.
