Morocco Launches 24/7 Support for Expats Amid Global Pandemic

The care of Moroccans residing abroad (MREs), in these times of global health crisis, is at the heart of all concerns. Invited to the Rih L’blad program on MFM Radio, Minister Nezha El Ouafi spoke about the initiatives of her department towards the MREs.
During the interview, the minister explained that the department in charge of Moroccans residing abroad (MREs) has launched several initiatives since the outbreak of the coronavirus. Among the exceptional measures applied, she cited "the creation of a 24/7 observation, monitoring and guidance cell". This cell aims to answer the questions of MREs on a dedicated website, social networks and by telephone. All this in coordination with the consulates and embassies.
But the ministry did not stop there. It also created "a second cell to handle complaints from MREs, collect their grievances on the site chikaya.ma". In addition to this, the Nezha El Ouafi department has also decided to "cover the funeral expenses of destitute Moroccan deceased who do not have Muslim funeral insurance in the host countries".
On MFM Radio, the minister in charge of relations with MREs expressed her availability to answer all clarification questions on the prevailing situation and the initiatives taken to help the Moroccan communities abroad to get through this difficult phase.
