Morocco Launches Sheep Skin Collection Campaign in Six Cities, Aims for 70 Million Dirham Revenue

Six cities in Morocco have been selected to host the campaign to sort the skins from the Eid al-Adha sacrifice. This campaign, in the long run, could generate 70 million dirhams.
The cities of Casablanca, Rabat, Fez, Marrakech, Beni Mellal and El Jadida are invited not to get rid of the skins of the sacrificed sheep. Indeed, it constitutes a source of wealth; it generates up to 70 million dirhams. The campaign launched, for this purpose, the day after Eid al-Adha, aims to recover the skins of the sacrificed sheep.
According to Le360.ma, several partners are associated with the success of the operation for which a large-scale media campaign is planned. The spin-offs related to this sector are enormous.
Several diversified activities are covered by the leather industry. It is composed of three branches, namely the basic exporting tannery to mainly serve local needs, leather goods as well as leather clothing. Finally, there is the branch of leather footwear, exclusively reserved for export.
The same source reports that these three sectors have organized themselves into ecosystems and have set themselves the objective of creating export turnover.
For its part, the Government supports them materially through the Industrial and Investment Development Fund. It intervenes with these sectors at the level of land, construction, infrastructure equipment and facilities. These aids, on the other hand, can reach 30% of the total amount of material and immaterial investment.
