Morocco Launches 40 km Road Expansion Project Between Dakhla and El Argoub

The widening work on national road No. 1 between Dakhla and El Argoub was launched on Thursday by the Minister of Equipment, Nizar Baraka. The project involves the construction of a stretch of approximately 40 km.
This project includes the realization of the first phase over a length of 20 km, with a budget envelope of more than 47.59 MDH, with an execution time of 12 months. The second phase of the project will be implemented over a length of 20 km, at an estimated cost of 59 MDH, with an execution time of 12 months.
The objective is to strengthen the road infrastructure of the Dakhla-Oued Eddahab region, contribute to economic and social development and support public and private investments in all sectors.
The ministerial delegation also launched the reinforcement and widening work of provincial road No. 1100 connecting Dakhla and Bir Anzarane over 25 km, with an investment of 16.27 MDH. This project, which will be implemented in four months, aims to preserve the road assets, improve road safety indicators and strengthen the road infrastructure in the region.
