Morocco Launches Mobile Consulate Service for Expats in Canary Islands

The city of Arrecife, in the Canary Islands, benefited last weekend from a mobile consulate for Moroccans established there in order to facilitate all their administrative procedures.
According to the Moroccan Consulate General in Las Palmas, quoted by the MAP, "a large number of Moroccans living in the different cities of this Canary Island have benefited, on this occasion, from a wide range of administrative services as part of this initiative aimed at bringing the administration closer to citizens".
This approach also aims to "listen to them" and "further strengthen their ties with the motherland", specifies the same source, according to which the officials have paid "particular attention to the social aspect by addressing the concerns and problems faced by members of the Moroccan community settled in Lanzarote in order to offer them appropriate solutions in coordination with the bodies concerned".
In total, 700 consular services and administrative formalities related, among other things, to registration in the consulate general’s registers, to the application or issuance of administrative certificates, the national identity card and the biometric passport, to the certification of conformity (legalization), or to the registration of births in the civil status registers, were carried out over two days.
