Morocco Launches $95 Million Dam Project to Boost Water Supply in Sefrou

The process for the construction of the new Ribat El Kheir dam in the province of Sefrou has been initiated. A call for tenders has been launched in this regard by the general directorate of hydraulics.
This new dam, which will cost 949.5 million dirhams, will have as its main objective the supply of drinking water to the city, the irrigation of the downstream perimeters and the production of hydroelectric power, it is indicated in a press release.
With a capacity of 124.3 million cubic meters, the Ribat El Kheir dam is expected to be operational in 5 years. It should be noted that in Sefrou, the average annual rainfall contribution is only 63.4 million cubic meters.
