Morocco Launches Global Tourism Push at Dubai Expo 2020

After a long period of lethargy, Moroccan tourism is setting out to reconquer the global market. Several levers are being activated to place the kingdom among the best destinations in the world.
At the 2020 World Expo (Expo Dubai) taking place from October 10 to 16, the kingdom has marked its presence with its investment and export brand "Morocco Now". Conferences, exhibitions, screenings and other activities are organized to sell the Moroccan destination at this major international event.
On this occasion, a conference on the theme "Morocco Tourism Investment Day" was initiated by the SMIT in cooperation with Bench Events. A meeting to remind lenders and business leaders of the various assets of Morocco in terms of modern infrastructure, in addition to its cultural diversity and the hospitality of its inhabitants, which allow it to occupy a prime place among the world’s tourist destinations.
Also, professionals took the opportunity to remind visitors that Morocco, due to its geographical position, offers significant investment opportunities in all productive sectors, including the tourism sector, which is attracting great interest from investors, particularly from the Gulf countries and the United Arab Emirates in particular.
The objective, according to the organizers, is to place the Moroccan destination in the world top 20, noting that the Kingdom is currently among the 30 most important tourist destinations worldwide.
Addressing the government’s efforts in the response against Covid-19, the President of the National Confederation of Tourism, Hamid Bentahar, indicated that the evolution of the tourism sector should allow the creation of vast employment opportunities in the near future.
