Morocco Launches Covid-19 Monitoring Cell to Track New Variant

Morocco wants to go beyond the suspension of flights with the United Kingdom, following the discovery of a new variant of Covid-19. A monitoring cell has been set up to closely monitor its evolution.
Closely monitoring this new strain and identifying its properties, as well as its impacts on health, is the main objective of this monitoring cell set up by the Ministries of the Interior and Health. According to Al Massae, these decisions were made as part of the emergency measures enacted to protect the health of populations and counter the spread of the pandemic.
This new discovery is a source of concern for several countries that have immediately closed their borders to any traveler. Flights have also been suspended by airlines in the same framework.
As for Royal Air Maroc, it has invited passengers on these suspended flights to change the date and/or destination in Europe free of charge. They can also get a refund for their tickets.
