Marrakech Airport Implements Random Medical Screenings Amid New COVID Variant Concerns

Passengers arriving at Marrakech Menara Airport are subject to additional medical examinations. The measure, which aims to minimize the risk of introducing the new Sars-cov2 strain, only concerns a portion of travelers.
The airport authorities in Marrakech no longer limit themselves to taking temperatures and PCR tests, reports. Pending more precise data on the new variant, randomly selected passengers are invited to undergo more thorough medical examinations.
In a statement, the regional delegate of the Ministry of Health indicated that the procedure put in place to strengthen epidemiological surveillance will prevent the spread of the new Coronavirus.
Since the appearance on December 19 of a new, more contagious strain of Sars-cov2 in the United Kingdom, the world is barricading itself. Like other countries, Morocco has decided to suspend its air links with the United Kingdom.
