Morocco Launches Blockchain-Based System to Verify Official Documents

The Competition Council has given the green light for the creation of a joint verification company to authenticate documents submitted by individuals and businesses. This company will be based on blockchain.
This decision by the Competition Council was made official in the latest issue of the official gazette, reports Le360. Archipels, the name of this company, brings together four major French players: EDF, Engie, La Poste and the Caisse des Dépôts. It is a trusted services platform that will be responsible for verifying the authenticity of supporting documents and documents submitted by individuals and businesses. These documents include driver’s licenses, proof of residence, diplomas, pay slips, etc.
It is a "multi-stakeholder" offering that allows banks, insurers, social service providers and public bodies to detect whether the information communicated to them has been falsified or is false.
With a capital of 2 million euros, Archipels is the first company to provide this service based on blockchain on a national scale.
