Morocco Launches 120 Centers to Prepare Couples for Marriage and Family Life

Aawatif Hayar, the Minister of Solidarity, Social Integration and Family, announced on Friday the launch, throughout the kingdom, of 120 "Jisr" centers dedicated to training future spouses on family management and the social education of children.
Speaking at a conference organized by her department as part of the 29th edition of the International Book and Publishing Fair, Hayar stated that the objective of the Jisr program is "to avoid school dropout of children in street situations" and that "working on the family will help reduce these social phenomena and improve the situation of families".
The minister stressed on this occasion "the importance of the government program Jisr for the family, in the development of an integrated social policy, within the framework of the royal project of social protection", adding that "investing in the family is a winning investment a thousand percent, in future generations, in social stability, in the well-being of society and in sustainable development".
As part of this program, child protection centers, as well as centers for the care of women victims of violence, and the elderly, will be set up in all regions and provinces of the kingdom in order to strengthen "parental education" and to allow family members "to be trained in healthy conflict management in order to reduce violence and the phenomenon of divorce".
The "Jisr" program also includes the generalization of nurseries to facilitate the working conditions of mothers and fathers, said the official, stressing that "investing in the family is essential to strengthen its resilience through the implementation of social services within the framework of the royal project of social protection, through institutions under the ministry, namely the National Mutual Aid, the Social Development Agency and the National Institute of Social Action".
