Morocco’s King Strikes Israel Deal While Backing Palestinian Statehood, Says Jack Lang

Former French Minister Jack Lang, President of the Arab World Institute, says that King Mohammed VI signed an agreement with Israel, without sacrificing the Palestinians. He is pleased that Morocco is the only Arab country that has been very clear on this point.
"Historically, Morocco has been at the forefront in the search for a just and equitable solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. It opened the first prospects for peace years ago. Faithful to its commitments, King Mohammed VI signed an agreement with Israel without sacrificing the Palestinians. The Sovereign has strongly affirmed that the Kingdom is determined to defend more than ever the need for a two-state solution, a Palestinian state and an Israeli state," he said in an interview with Atlasinfo.
He is pleased that Morocco has reiterated its position. "What pleases me is that Morocco is the only Arab country that has been very clear on this point: yes to relations with Israel but without sacrificing the Palestinians," he said. For the former French minister, it is high time that the Palestinian people had the right to a state. "For the peoples of this region to make progress in progress and stability, a lasting peace must be found. The new American president will support this perspective, because Joe Biden also supports a two-state solution," he is convinced.
