Morocco’s King Orders Enhanced Support for Diaspora During Sea Crossings

King Mohammed VI has just ordered the Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity to set up a special support system for members of the Moroccan community residing abroad, on board the ships operating the crossing, in order to ensure the best crossing and disembarkation conditions.
The Royal Cabinet specifies in a press release that this "system aims to facilitate, during the crossing, all administrative, customs and health formalities, so that the journey, arrival and stay in Morocco take place in a safe, fluid and satisfactory manner".

Furthermore, according to the Royal Cabinet, the other traditional reception and assistance arrangements deployed by the Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity, in Morocco and abroad, will remain in force.
In addition, instructions have also been given to the Embassies and Consulates General of the Kingdom of Morocco abroad to mobilize for this operation, it is further stated, calling on them to facilitate all the consular and administrative procedures required by Moroccan citizens and foreigners wishing to visit Morocco, and to respond effectively to their requests and expectations.

A few hours earlier, the Sovereign had ordered the national companies, in particular Royal Air Maroc, to make a commercial gesture in order to allow Moroccans residing abroad to go to Morocco "at reasonable prices". The call was heard as the airline has updated its fares with tickets starting at 120 euros round-trip.
