Morocco’s King Mohammed VI Postpones Egypt Visit Amid Ongoing Pandemic Concerns

The state visit to the Arab Republic of Egypt, scheduled for the very beginning of the year, is no longer on the agenda of King Mohammed VI, at least for this year. The reason, says the Egyptian ambassador to Rabat, is the Covid-19 pandemic.
"Relations between Morocco and Egypt are excellent. Bilateral consultations (on diplomatic and security levels) have reached advanced stages. The visit, scheduled for last March, was canceled due to the pandemic," said the ambassador.
For the time being, notes the Egyptian diplomat, and like several events postponed around the world, it is difficult to set a date for the visit of the Moroccan sovereign. In the current state of affairs, "no one can predict the end of the health crisis."
This setback in no way alters the excellent relations between the two countries. This has resulted in an increase in trade, the value of which currently approaches one billion dollars.
