Morocco’s King Mohammed VI to Meet Senegalese President, Strengthen Ties in Official Dakar Visit

Currently on a private stay in Gabon, King Mohammed VI will make an official visit to Dakar on Monday, February 20, where he will meet with Senegalese President Macky Sall.
Regional but also continental issues will be on the agenda of the meeting between the sovereign and the Senegalese head of state. The two personalities will also discuss the development of bilateral relations between Morocco and Senegal. They will preside over the signing of numerous agreements covering various areas of cooperation between the two countries. The inauguration of two projects financed by Morocco will also take place: a fishing village and a vocational training center in Diamniadio.
Over the decades, relations between Morocco and Senegal have largely developed. During a visit by the Moroccan Foreign Minister to Dakar in 2022, Nasser Bourita stated that Senegal occupies a special place in the heart of King Mohammed VI, who has dedicated eight visits to it since his accession to the throne of his glorious ancestors, and that it is the first economic partner of the kingdom in Africa.
