Morocco’s King Leads Ambitious Preparations for 2030 World Cup Co-Hosting

Concerned about the success of the 2030 football World Cup that Morocco is co-organizing with Spain and Portugal, King Mohammed VI is accelerating preparations for the event.
King Mohammed VI is reportedly overseeing the establishment of a specialized central and regional team that will lead major projects related to the 2030 World Cup, according to the Spanish version of Forbes magazine, adding that the sovereign’s wish is for the celebration and development of the competition to serve as a model for future hosts. He has thus appointed Mohammed El Yaacoubi, governor of Rabat-Salé-Kénitra; Mohamed Mhidia, governor of the Casablanca-Settat region; Saaïd Amzazi, governor of the Souss-Massa region; Benhayoun Jalal, prefect of the Nouaceur region; and Mohamed Alami Oudan, governor of Chefchaouen; alongside Fouzi Lekjaa, president of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation and president of the World Cup Committee, to ensure the total success of this global sporting event.
King Mohammed VI is also counting on Mohamed Yacoubi, governor of the Rabat-Salé-Kénitra region, one of the most important port diplomats in recent years, for the success of the 2030 World Cup.
Infrastructure, innovation and territorial management... Morocco wants to succeed in the challenge of organization. In terms of rail infrastructure, an ambitious project to extend the network is planned to facilitate visitor traffic between different cities. Among the infrastructures under construction is the Grand Stade Hassan II in Benslimane, near Casablanca. The stadiums in Tangier, Rabat, Fez, Agadir and Marrakech, which will also host 2030 World Cup matches, are being renovated.
In terms of innovation, each stadium will be equipped with public Wi-Fi, IPTV networks, a high-definition sound system and giant LED screens, to allow spectators to experience unique moments. Surveillance cameras, as well as an intelligent access control system, will also be installed to enhance security and ensure smooth entry.
By supervising the preparations for the 2030 World Cup, King Mohammed VI wants to ensure the success of this major sporting event.
