Morocco’s King Hails Historic World Cup Run as Team Reaches Semi-Finals

The Moroccan sovereign says he has "followed with great joy and delight your brilliant journey during the 2022 World Cup in the brotherly State of Qatar, where you have succeeded, brilliantly and deservedly, in reaching the semi-finals, the first and most resounding achievement of Moroccan, Arab and African football, during the final stages of this global sporting event."

"While congratulating you on this historic and unprecedented achievement, We wish to express Our sincere thanks and deep pride in what you have accomplished during this great football gathering, in terms of exceptional performance and remarkable discipline, which reflect the great professionalism, high competitiveness, sincere patriotism and noble human values that are yours and embody the spirit of challenge and your determination to spare no effort to raise high the flag of Moroccan football on the international scene and to represent African and Arab football as it should be; a firm determination animated by the encouragement and support of passionate Moroccan supporters who have never ceased to support you with unequaled enthusiasm, songs and celebrations full of feelings of love and adoration for the Homeland," the Sovereign notes.

The Sovereign reiterates, on this occasion, His warm congratulations to the members of the national team, players, coach, technical and medical staff, managers and executives of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation, imploring the Almighty "to preserve them and grant them further success to move forward, with the same will and the same spirit of competition and achievement, and thus achieve more great feats that honor Moroccan football in the next continental and international sporting competitions, offering again and again joy to the large Moroccan public who remain proud of your achievements and support you everywhere, inside the country as abroad."
