Morocco’s King Donates Land for New $18 Million Spanish School in Rabat

King Mohammed VI has made available to Spain a site in Rabat to house a new Spanish school, whose construction work will last 36 months for 16.5 million euros.
A large Spanish delegation led by the Director General of Education Planning and Management, José Manuel Bar Cendón, visited this week the site that will house the new headquarters of the Spanish school in Rabat, where 758 students are enrolled this year. The center will have 9 classrooms for kindergartens, 18 for primary, 12 for compulsory secondary education and 4 for the Baccalaureate. In total, it will have a capacity of 933 students, reports Info Ceuta.
The delegation also visited the Spanish educational centers in Rabat, Tangier, Larache, Tetouan, Al Hoceima, Nador and Casablanca, under the Department of Education of the Spanish Embassy in Morocco, and also held a meeting with the director of the La Paz Spanish school in Laâyoune. At every stage, the delegation exchanged with the management team, teaching staff and parents’ associations in order to gather the needs of each and proposals for improvement.
In total, the delegation visited 11 of the 18 Spanish educational centers under the Department of Education of the Spanish Embassy in Morocco. 4,553 students (boys and girls), Spanish and Moroccan, receive courses taught by some 355 teachers. These centers, which have existed for centuries, contribute to strengthening the educational, cultural and human ties between the two countries.
