Morocco’s King Congratulates National Team on Historic World Cup Quarter-Final Berth

King Mohammed VI spoke on Tuesday, December 6, with the national team coach, Walid Regragui, to congratulate him on the qualification for the quarter-finals of the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
"The Sovereign thus spoke on the phone with the President of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation, Fouzi Lekjaa, and the coach of the national team, Walid Regragui, to whom the Sovereign expressed his sincere congratulations to the players and the technical and administrative staff who have been able to give their best and accomplish an excellent journey in the course of this major sporting competition," the statement said.
For the Sovereign, "the historic performance of the members of the national team who have lived up to the expectations and aspirations of the large and valiant Moroccan public who support them in Morocco, in Qatar and all over the world, calling on them to maintain the course in this competition, to continue to honor national football and to carry high the flag of the Kingdom."
